Tradition #2-Feeding the Birds

As the winter months grow colder and  little critters go into hibernation or fly south, we like to provide a little gift for our feathered friends who stick around.  Every year we make bird seed ornaments and string cranberries to decorate our spruce in the back yard.  It looks festive, plus provides for some fun bird watching.  The kids get so excited when they see a bird pecking at the ornament they made.   

Our family advent book we are using this year with daily devotions and activities had a lesson to teach the kids about 4 promises God made.  One of the promises was from Matthew 6:26, God feeds the birds of the air; He'll give you food too.  It was a perfect day to celebrate the simple of gifts of nature God has created and reiterate the lesson from our advent; God will provide for us.
